Profile
Mitch is Special Counsel and an Accredited Specialist in Immigration Law at Estrin Saul Lawyers’ Adelaide office. He is one of only three Accredited Specialists in Immigration Law practising in South Australia and is widely regarded for his expertise in complex family visa issues, character and cancellation matters, and merits and judicial review applications.
Mitch also acts in complex litigation matters involving immigration detention, including false imprisonment claims for unlawful immigration detention, adverse security assessments issued by ASIO, and actions for damages against the Australian Government.
Mitch has been a member of the Migration Law Committee of the Law Council of Australia since 2018 and regularly provides expert evidence on the intersection between immigration law and other jurisdictions, including custody issues in the Family Court of Australia, child protection matters in the Youth Court of South Australia and sentencing considerations in the South Australian District Court.
Mitch is also a recognised thought leader in migration law and delivers Continuing Professional Development (CPD) presentations, training, and seminars on complex migration issues to lawyers, community organisations, and industry groups.
